Brock Faber

Backyard rinks and ice arenas across Minnesota are filled with hopeful young hockey players dreaming of the day they’ll lace up their skates and hit the ice at Grand Casino Arena in a Minnesota Wild uniform. For Brock Faber, that dream is now reality.

Born and raised in the State of Hockey, Brock began his hockey career playing in the Osseo-Maple Grove Youth Hockey Association. He went on to play in the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, serving as captain for the U18 team, and winning a gold medal at the IIHF U18 World Championships. Brock’s success on the ice led to him being a second round pick in the 2020 NHL draft. Prior to making his way to Los Angeles to join the Kings, Brock attended the University of Minnesota, playing for the Golden Gophers for three seasons. He was the Big Ten’s defensive player of the year as a sophomore and as a junior, and as a captain for the Gophers, helped lead the team to the 2023 NCAA championship game. He also skated for Team USA in the 2021 World Juniors, winning gold, and was a member of the 2022 U.S. Olympic team for the Beijing Winter Games.

A June 2022 trade with the LA Kings brought Brock back to his home state where he signed a contract with the Minnesota Wild, joining their roster for the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Among the 2023-24 NHL rookie class, Brock ranked first in blocked shots (150), tied for first in assists (39), third in power-play assists (13), third in power-play points (16), tied for sixth in power-play goals (3), and eighth in shots on goal (136). These achievements were recognized when Brock was named runner-up for the 2024 Calder Trophy, the NHL’s award for rookie of the year. In early 2024, the Minnesota Wild signed an eight-year contract extension with Brock, keeping him with the team through 2033.

Brock’s commitment, dedication, and appreciation for hard work extends beyond the rink. His connection to the community and desire to improve lives runs as deep as his Minnesota roots.
